Westbury Lions Play Host to Time Travelling Dignitaries…
Rumours that Westbury Lions would play host to some of the most celebrated figures in British history proved to be accurate when over the weekend of 12th and 13th July last when local lad Abraham Laverton brought from the grave no less figures than William Shakespeare, Sir Isaac Newton, James Watt and Edwin Henry Landseer.
Looking well for their ages the visitors answered questions as part of their invite to the Laverton Institute. Dapper headwear and sartorial elegance in general were features of their presentation although Shakespeare did cause a bit of a stir with some ambivalent ideas regarding gender preferences.
The assembled company was assured by Messrs Newton and Watt that Shakespeare was a top banana and would get a mention for the Lions in his next play. Could it be he has already done so in Henry IV Part One?
