Westbury Lions Charity Bake Off – 5th March 2016

Westbury Lions Charity Bake Off – 5th March 2016

This is a new event for us for 2016, which we hope is going to be as popular with the community as our other activities throughout the year!

Lions Bake Off Poster

With everybody getting very excited around the popular television show “The Great British Bakeoff”, we thought it would be rather fun to hold our own Bake Off to raise money for charity.

We have categories for Adults and Children alike, ensuring everybody can get involved.  We also have a top judge, Joanna Corteen of The Fairy Cakery, overseeing your works of art.  A great range of prizes has been donated by The Fairy Cakery, Davies of Westbury and Antoinettes Wardrobe.

Entrants will be required to bring their baking masterpieces to the Paragon Hall, Westbury, no later than 9:45am on the 5th March.

All entries will be judged while visitors enjoy tea or coffee (served and consumed in a very British manner of course), before being offered up for sale to raise funds for local causes.

Entry forms can be downloaded below – please bring completed forms with you on the day to speed your access to the event.

Westbury Lions Club Bake Off Rules

All entrants must be amateur bakers who do not gain money from baking.

All entrants must live in BA13 postcode (Westbury and surrounding villages).

The judges decisions will be final.

By entering the competition you are donating your cakes/biscuits to Westbury Lions for sale after the competition.

The price for cakes will be set by Westbury Lions Club and is not intended to reflect the cost of making the cake/biscuit but to optimise fundraising potential.

A reduced price will be offered to entrants who wish to buy back their own entry.

Any cakes not sold at the end of the event will remain the property of Westbury Lions Club and may be donated to local causes.

In addition to supplying the decorated cake you must provide a small separately baked sample of the sponge mixture used , undecorated for judging purposes.
