Westbury Lions 10k in aid of local child
It’s time to reach for your running shoes to take part in the annual Westbury Lions 10K Run being held at its normal venue The White Horse Country Park on Sunday 5th October 2025.
This year the Westbury Lions have decided to donate the proceeds of the race to Robin Russell. You may remember the recent article in the WHN on the success of the campaign to raise funds for the specialist wheelchair for young Robin Russell. The Lions made a substantial donation towards the wheelchair and were so taken with the appeal for young Robin that they decided to continue their support for Robin as he will require ongoing assistance for the rest of his life.
Race Coordinator Jarvis Macdonald commented “the 10K Run is one of many events that the Westbury Lions carry out throughout the year funds to support good causes in the local community including the Donkey Derby, the Easter Egg Hunt, the Old Folks Party and the month long Christmas Carol Float in December. It gives us great pleasure to donate the proceeds of the 10K Fun Run to help Robin and his family.
Robins mum Jazz said that she was really pleased that The Westbury Lions were continuing their support for Robin and that the additional funds raised would go towards the ongoing therapy that is making such a difference to Robin’s progress.
