Roarsome Family Fun Day

This year Westbury and Trowbridge Lions tried doing something a bit different.

On Sunday 1 September, we had a variety of stalls, donkeys, music, fairground attractions, and stationary engines at the White Horse Country Club as we tested the format of our first Family Fun Day.

 Here are the Musical acts with timings:

The musical acts describe themselves as follows:

1.  Bluburst – 11:40 – 12:30 and 14:40 – 15:30

Bluburst are a duo with Francis Butler – singer, songwriter and guitarist who also hosts the weekly local ‘Open Mic’ at the Angel Westbury – and Tim O’Brien, organist and keyboard player from Sussex. Francis & Tim first met in 1972 when Tim moved to Sussex from Wiltshire and discovered their mutual interest in music at school.  Continuing to play in bands up until 1987 they teamed up again in 2018 primarily to work on Francis’s original material but have since expanded their repertoire to include pop and soft rock covers mainly from the 1960s onwards, which now make up the mainstay of their live performances.

2.  Kirsty Clinch – 12:40 – 13:30

Kirsty Clinch is a professional musician and independent country & pop singer / songwriter and is currently recording new music to sell to the world.

With a big following on Instagram, and a big fan base in America, she has become a social influencer with her fiery red hair. Her first worldwide single “Fit The Shoe” hit number 6 in the iTunes country music charts & 137 in the main iTunes Charts. With her official album, Evolution, also reaching number 4 in the iTunes country album charts!

She’s definitely one to watch out for!

She says “My main goal is to touch the hearts of many though my art & spread awareness that bad situation are ok to experience, and eventually good things come, & a positive attitude certainly can help to leads to better paths. I already achieved my first goal by travelling & performing in Nashville at venues such as The BlueBird Cafe & getting into the iTunes charts!  What’s next?”

“As an independent artist, you must have 100% faith in yourself and your worth, you must work hard to gain all your goals & dreams you desire, & I have a lot of energy to still give to the world, so I’m going hard or I’m going home.”

Her fiery red hair, angelic vocals, uniqueness & positive attitude will CLINCH your attention!

3.  Wade Merritt – 13:40 – 14:30

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Wade Merritt takes the nostalgic sounds of the 70’s and instils the essence into his original material.  Composing since 2016, he brings retro charm into the modern age with memorable melodies and intricate lyrics.  Previously, he has supported the likes of Toyah, Ian Holloway, and Tom Hingley, to name a few.  More recently, Wade has released two singles, which are available on all streaming platforms.
