Our New Community Bookshop is now OPEN!
Well, what an amazing result in just 3 weeks!
After receiving notice on our old premises on Warminster Road we honestly thought that was the end of our little community bookshop, which had been doing so well up until then. But thanks to an appeal on Facebook we are very happy to confirm that we have moved to new premises on Edward Street, thanks to the generosity of a local businessman and landlord.
The shop which was previously known as Mad Hatters has had a complete clean from top to bottom, new coats of paint inside and out and a great deal of elbow grease has been expended to create another welcoming venue to come and find your favourite books.
Many Lions and members of the public have contributed to the preparation of the new bookshop, and we are hugely grateful to all those who have helped make the move possible.
Many thanks to Mayor Ian Cunningham for popping along to declare the new shop open too!
Our community bookshop is open from 10am to 1pm, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Why not pop in for a chat and see what we have done with the place… We might even sell you a book or two in the process!
