New Members for Westbury Lions!

Westbury Lions have been busy recruiting again, with the November business meeting welcoming 3 new members to the club.

Julia Cockram and partner Mark Sutton both helped the club in the summer with the Paultons Park trip and Donkey Derby, by organising and being part of the Star Wars team which put in a very popular appearance on both days. Their group MK Garrison, are no strangers to fundraising having already raised over £10,000 for Great Ormand Street Hospital, so fellow Lions are hoping Mark and Julia will continue their fundraising success within the club we might even see a few more storm troopers keeping the peace around town in the future!

Also joining the club this month was Val Jones, bringing a wealth of experience working with children having fostered and also supported local schools as a PTA member.

On welcoming the new members to the club, Lion President David Firth commented “When you become a Lion, you are not just joining a local club, but also being welcomed into the largest international service organisation with over 1.4 million members worldwide. Wherever you wear your Lions badge, both home and overseas, you will find there is a local club waiting to welcome you!”

Westbury Lions are always on the lookout for new members young and old, so if you fancy getting involved in a club which has a thriving social calendar as well as participating in popular fund raising events and supporting the local community, please visit our website or contact Lion Mike Pearce on 01373 302956.
