Family Fun Dog Show

DUE TO THE HIGH TEMPERATURES FORECAST FOR SUNDAY 17th JULY WE HAVE RESCHEDULED THIS EVENT TO SUNDAY 11th SEPTEMBER.

A new event for us this one, but hopefully another regular for the calendar in the future!

The Westbury Lions Club Family Fun Dog Show is all about having a great time while showing off your prized pooch in the the wonderful surroundings of the White Horse Country Park!

We have our regular team of supporters providing refreshments including hot food, while our entertainment partners are ensuring there is fun and games for the little ones while they wait for the next category to show off little Rover.

Our dog show committee have put their heads together and tried to come up with some fun classes which will allow all dogs to enter. This is intended to be an amateur friendly, FUN event, and we hope we have a class for every dog!

Show Classes:

  • Most Fabulous Fella – Best Male over 1 Yr
  • Loveliest Lady – Best Female over 1 Yr
  • Coolest Pup – 6 months to 1 Yr
  • Best Rescue Dog
  • Best Furry Family
  • Golden Oldies – Dogs over 7 Yrs
  • Best Trick – Open to all
  • Waggiest Tale – Open to all
  • Best Treat Catcher
  • The Dog the Judge would like to take home!
  • BEST IN SHOW!

The event runs from Midday to 4:30pm.

Entry on the day is £3 per Adult with accompanied children entering for free.

Show Class Entry is £2 per class, per dog.

Please note that as this is a fun event, class entry will be informal, insofar that we will be allowing dogs to enter each class on a first come first served basis up to the individual class entry limit.

Rules for the event are pretty simple… Dogs must be kept on leads AT ALL TIMES, please clean up after your dog and use the bins provided. If you need bags for cleaning up, our volunteers will have spares if you run out. Judges decision is final.

WARM WEATHER NOTE:

On the day there will be lots of water stations, several paddling pools and lots of shade, but we encourage all visitors to be on the lookout for any signs of heat exhaustion in the dogs (and our human attendees!). If temperatures are forecast to go above 25C then the event is likely to be rescheduled.
